East Orange Pro Plumbing is a call-based emergency and repair plumbing business at 524 Central Avenue, East Orange, NJ 07018. We take calls around the clock and send crews to homes, apartment buildings and storefronts in East Orange and nearby Essex County towns.
We do not publish review counts, ratings or founding claims on this site, because we would rather you judge us on the first call. What we can state plainly is how we work, what we charge for and what we will not do.
How We Work
A person answers the phone and asks what the water is doing. A crew arrives with the tools for the likely cause, diagnoses on site and gives a price before work begins. If the work needs a permit, we say so and explain which office handles it. If the job needs equipment or access we do not have, we tell you instead of guessing.
- Price before work starts, every time.
- Written notes of what we found for landlords, managers and insurers.
- Licensed and insured crews.
- Same-day appointments when the schedule allows.
- An honest answer when repair is not worth the money.
Why We Focus On East Orange
The housing here is mostly older apartment buildings and two to four family homes. The city's own plan counts 29.8 percent of homes as built in 1939 or earlier and about 69 percent as renter occupied. Plumbing in that kind of building fails in repeating patterns: stacks that carry grease from several kitchens, galvanized supply lines, boilers older than the tenants. We learned to plan for those patterns.
Our services run from drain cleaning and water heater repair to sewer line repair and boiler repair. The full list is on the services page, and the towns we cover are on the service area page.
What We Do And Do Not Do
We handle repairs and installations across the whole plumbing system: drains, water heaters, supply lines, sewer laterals, fixtures, sump pumps and boilers. We also do planned work such as repiping and plumbing installation.
We do not give a price over the phone for a problem we have not seen, we do not guess at the cause of a leak when a tool can find it, and we do not recommend a replacement when a repair will hold. When a job is outside plumbing, such as structural waterproofing or electrical work, we say so and refer you to the right trade.
Permits, Licensing And Paperwork
According to N.J.S.A. 45:14C-1, plumbing work in New Jersey is done by a licensed master plumber or an authorized plumbing contractor, and permit applications list the plumbing contractor's license. Ordinary maintenance, such as clearing a stoppage or replacing a faucet, does not need a permit by itself. Replacing or relocating piping does, and the East Orange Building Division at City Hall handles those applications.
We tell you at the start of a job whether a permit applies and which office to contact. After the work, we leave you with notes on what was found and what was done, which landlords, property managers and insurers often ask for.
For Landlords, Managers And Tenants
Most East Orange homes are rented, so many of our calls involve three parties: a tenant who sees the problem, a landlord who pays for the repair and sometimes an insurer. We keep the record clear for all three. During heat season, from October 1 to May 15, New Jersey requires landlords to keep occupied rental units at set minimum temperatures, and we prioritize no heat and no hot water calls in occupied buildings.
Where We Are
Our base is 524 Central Avenue, close to Brick Church, City Hall and the Garden State Parkway. Central Avenue is a county route that runs through the middle of the city, so crews can reach most addresses without crossing the whole town. We also respond in Orange, Newark, Bloomfield, West Orange and Irvington.
If you are calling about a building you manage, tell us how many units it has and whether other apartments have the same symptom. That helps us bring the right equipment on the first trip.
What To Expect On Your First Call
Tell us the address, what you see and when it started. We will tell you what to shut off, what to leave alone and how soon a crew can come. If it is not an emergency, we book the next open appointment and confirm the details. You can reach us at (973) 488-5410 or by email at contact@proplumbingeastorange.com.
